Stephen Tompkinson and Jessica Johnson are set to bring this great Willy Russell classic alive once more in a touring production in 2019. They were really fun to shoot. No airs and graces just talent and good humour. 

Hadestown

Eris the play

Eris, a new play written by John King and directed by Robbie Taylor Hunt will debut at the Bunker Theatre on September 11th. We had a messy but fun  time creating this poster. Click here to read more about the play.

Save money on toys!

 

A manic day full of laughter and shouting as some very talented youngsters took over the studio. The shoot for Petits Filous involved creative use of yogurt pots by stylist Natasha Freeman. Heas Teacher for the day was Cressida Eatson-Lloyd.

Going to any festivals?

Here are the posters I was delighted to shoot for Chichester Theatre Festival's 2018 season. Two days surrounded by great actors and dancers is not the worst way to spend time. Big up to artistic director Danny Evans who brought vision and a great smile.

After the huge success of the National Theatre's production of Macbeth comes the tour. Here is the poster we created with the help of super talented actors Gareth Aled and Cat Simmons.

Shakespeare in Love

2018 seems to be my year for theatre posters. This for a new production of Shakespeare in Love, adapted for the stage by Lee Hall which will tour the UK later this year. The new production will be directed by Philip Breen with music by Paddy Cunneen. Casting for the tour is to be confirmed.

The Cherry Orchard

Kirsty Bushell and Jude Owusu star in the forthcoming production of the Cherry Orchard at the Bristol Old Vic. Creating the poster image with them was about as much fun as one could have with a camera. Here is a link to some behind the scenes stuff.

Strictly Dad Dancing

Despite having two left feet I was delighted to share the dance floor with this years Strictly Come Dancing winners. The shoot was for their tour programme. Lovely frocks!

Suranne Jones

The atmosphere in the studio was highly charged for the Suranne Jones shoot. Her new play, Frozen, opens in the Theatre Royal Haymarket on February 9th.

Long day's Journey into the West End

Loving the new posters for Long day's Journey into Night. The new design marks the play's move to the West End.

Ball and Boe

Always nice to be at number one in the charts so close to Christmas. This from one of my shoots with the dynamic duo earlier this year.

What happens in Vegas....

Off to Vegas to shoot chef Robert Irvine for his restaurant launch in the famous Tropicana Hotel. He is a larger than life English character, very famous in the US but unknown in the UK. He has his own talk show, feeds the army and has a range of food products.

A 'no pressure' shoot with the great and the good of advertising for the new Mailmen campaign. Art direction handled with great skill and verve by Tom Thomas at Lida.

10 Years On

Ten years ago, the beautiful little girl on the right came and had her portrait taken at one of my first Sunday Shoots. The shot made it into my pertfolio, Last Sunday, the older, wiser and no less beautiful girl on the left came for her second Sunday Shoot. It's been such a privilege to capture those brief moments in her life.

The Grinning Man

My poster for The Grinning Man featuring Louis Maskell. The Grinning Man is a brand new tragicomic musical directed by Tom Morris and based on The Man Who Laughs by Victor Hugo. Brought to life by writer Carl Grose (Dead Dog in a Suitcase) featuring a sensational original score by Tim Phillips and Marc Teitler and puppetry from Gyre and Gimble, the original puppeteers of War Horse. It's going to be a great show.

Mozart the fly poster

A truly intense shoot with the multi talented Lucian Msamati who is to play Salieri in the National Theatre production of Amadeus. The fly posting was all done by Rosie and me.
